In late January, 2009, BLOSSOMS Principle Investigator, Professor Richard Larson, and BLOSSOMS Project Manager, Elizabeth Murray, visited Lahore, Pakistan to meet with Pakistani partners in the initiative. They were hosted by BLOSSOMS Project Manager in Pakistan, Dr. Naveed Malik, Rector of the Virtual University there. During the visit, Prof. Larson and Ms. Murray signed an MOU with the government of the Punjab Province (See above). They also visited the Lahore University of Science and Management, Punjab University and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences where Prof. Larson made presentations on the BLOSSOMS Initiative. Professors and students at those universities were invited and encouraged to participate in the project by creating their own BLOSSOMS learning videos. During the visit, Prof. Larson and Ms. Murray visited several high schools in the greater Lahore region, including both public and private schools. High school teachers were informed about BLOSSOMS and asked for their feedback on how useful it would be in their schools. For the most part, their response to BLOSSOMS was positive. The teachers were also invited and encouraged to participate in the project by creating their own learning videos.
